Jake Paul: Heel Turned Hero?

As the sport of mixed martial arts continues to grow at a rapid pace, different target audiences are getting involved in combat sports in various ways. And the leader of the new wave of entertainers turned fighters is non-other than “the problem child,” Jake Paul.

With Paul’s braggadocious and loud entry into the combat world, he was instantly labelled as the sport’s main villain, which is maybe what he planned to be all along.

However, earlier today, the 24-year-old did something that showed a softer, more humane side to him. And with what Jake Paul just did, he showed glimpses that he might very well be turning into the sport’s long-awaited unsung hero.

Fighters’ pay has been a controversial, subject in the mixed martial arts world for the longest time. And every now and then, we see a high-profile fighter showing frustrations when comparing salaries to boxers, football players, or any other sport. But in reality, it’s simply an intelligent brand-oriented business.

Earlier this week, UFC fighter Sarah “Too Sweet” alpar made headlines when she was forced to open a GOFundMe account to help cover her training camp expenses for her upcoming fight on September 18.

And with Sarah being short on donations, Jake Paul came to the rescue by urging people to support the 30-year-old Alpar by posting her story on his social media and, most importantly, donating $5,000 to the fundraiser.

Alongside the donation from Paul, he included the message, “keep training hard, Sarah, sending positive energy for you champ!!!”

Say what you want about Jake Paul. But moments like these are what we really need in this world. A positive message or a donation for someone in need goes a long way in life.

And instead of blaming the system or the people who are supposedly “responsible” for the situation at hand, a simple donation with a positive message can make the individual wake up with nothing but gratitude in their heart.

With Paul’s colossal influence, Triller Fight Club just donated $25,000 to Sarah Alpar’s GoFundMe account.

In less than 12 hours, Alpar’s GoFundMe account went from $500 to $35,000. Influencer indeed.
